Michael W. Mitchell

Michael W. Mitchell was admitted to the Arkansas Bar in 1969 and the Colorado Bar in 1994. In 1975, he joined classmates Dent Gitchel (retired Professor of law at UALR School of Law), Robert M. Cearley, Jr., (past president of Arkansas Bar Association), and David Bogard (former circuit judge in Pulaski County) in the practice of law.

In 1976, the firm merged with Eugene R. Warren, who worked closely with Mike until Mr. Warren's sudden death in 1980. Mike succeeded Mr. Warren as general counsel for the Arkansas Medical Society in 1981. In 1983, Mike was instrumental in the formation of the Health Law Committee of the Arkansas Bar Association and served as its Chairman from the formation until 1989, and he served as the Chairman of the Health Law section from 2001- to 2002.

Mike has been active in jury trial work for many years for both defendants and plaintiffs and certified as a civil trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (1995-2005). He has been recognized in the Best Lawyers in America in Health Law since 1997. He is a member of both the Tort and Health Law sections of the Arkansas Bar Association.

Mike also serves as general counsel for the Arkansas Automobile Dealers Association, Arkansas Residential Assisted Living Association, and Arkansas State Dental Association..

Finally, Mike is a registered lobbyist before the Arkansas State Legislature on behalf of the Arkansas Medical Society, Arkansas Automobile Dealers Association, Arkansas Podiatric Medical Association, Arkansas Residential Assisted Living Association, Easter Seals Arkansas, GlaxcoSmithKline, Pfizer, Pinnacle Pointe Hospital, Vista Health, and United Health.
